More memes! Yay!

I missed last weeks blog. Oops. Glad I’m a week ahead for the assignment. Alright, on to this week’s selections…

The first thing I want to look at today is a cute little meme that shows an older gentleman walking away with a frown on his face. The text reads, “My idea of managing my finances is arranging all of my one dollar bills so that they face the same direction.” The old guy in the picture could be a banker. This came up in my memories from April 11, 2017 and I re-posted it this year. The meme was originally posted by a Facebook page called Servers Unfiltered. As a server, this meme speaks to me on a personal level, because most people only tip in dollar bills. Also, at one of my first jobs the manager required us to face all of the bills in our till before we turned them in for the night, so doing that is a habit from that time. The link for the meme is here.

Second in line this week is a meme that I find funny. It also came up in my memories from April 12, 2017 and was posted originally by a Facebook page called Introvert Problems. It shows Simon Cowell from American Idol. The text above the picture says, “You should socialize more.” The quote from Cowell is, “That’s a no from me.” This meme rings true for me. I’m an introvert and can only deal with other people in spurts. Socializing makes me tired. So when people tell me to go out more, I think they are crazy or they don’t know me. The link for this meme is here.

Coming in at number three this week is a meme that makes me laugh every time I see it because it is so true. This one was posted by Grumpy Cat Memes on April 1, 2016. The picture is a double shot with a husky in the top frame and a cat in the lower frame. The text over the husky’s picture says, “A dog is able to learn up to 250 words and gestures. A dog can count up to five and perform simple math. Equivalent Human Age: 3.” The text for the cat’s picture says, “A cat doesn’t give a fuck and is sick of your shit. Equivalent Human Age: 42.” This sums up the attitudes of cats and dogs beautifully, I think. My cats have always wanted what they want when they want it and at no other time. While my dogs have been happy with everything they’ve gotten from me every time. The link for this meme is here.

Number four in this week’s list is a pie chart of sorts that explains my personality very well. It looks more like a gauge on a vehicle. There are three points on the gauge and the indicator is pointing to the right. The text says, “I only have three settings…” and the settings are Blunt, Quiet, and Sarcastic. Most of the time, my setting is on Quiet or Sarcastic, but there are times when it slips over to Blunt. Those are the times when my friends should be careful what they ask me. This one made me grunt in agreement and laugh when I saw it. It was posted by a Facebook group called The Daily Introvert, and the link is here.

The final item in the queue for this week is a news article that a friend shared and tagged me in the post. The article was posted on ABCActionNews.com on April 9, 2019. The headline reads “Police: Woman stole Walmart scooter to drive to Waffle House.” The link for the article is here. In Crossville, Tennessee a woman was at Walmart shopping and she drove out of the Walmart parking lot still on the scooter. She told the police she wanted a cup of coffee at Waffle House. The reason my friend tagged me in her post is I work at Waffle House in Port Arthur. I, of course, had to respond to this article, so I used my favorite gif of Judge Judy putting her head in her hand in disgust.

People do strange things for WH coffee.

Rhetorical situation time for the week, and I’m going to use the last thing on my list, as usual. The audience was originally for the news readers in Crossville, Tennessee, but has ballooned across the internet since the article was posted. I believe the purpose of the article was to make people aware of the reason for the arrest of the alleged thief. Possibly, the writer wanted to see if people would comment. It certainly got a laugh from me.
